Atlanta Needs Hope. Hope Needs You.

Since 1900, Hope Atlanta has been committed to permanently transforming lives and communities by ending homelessness. We welcome volunteers from corporations, civic, social, and professional organizations, colleges, families, and community members — as individuals or groups — to come alongside us in advancing this mission. Join us!

Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteer experiences are community-driven and essential to our continued success in serving neighbors in need. Through hands-on service opportunities, every volunteer plays a vital role in helping us deliver critical support and resources to the 6,500 clients we serve each year.

Community Outreach
Kitchen Volunteer

As Hope Atlanta’s signature volunteer opportunity, our donor-fed, volunteer-led kitchen brings the community together to prepare and serve nutritious meals to women, children, and clients experiencing food insecurity. Volunteers assist with meal prep, guest service, food safety, pantry organization, and kitchen cleanup while creating a warm and welcoming dining experience.

Community Outreach Kitchen Operations Support

Help ensure the Community Outreach Center kitchen runs efficiently by receiving and storing food donations, managing inventory, organizing supplies, assisting with deep cleaning, and supporting meal planning efforts. This role helps maintain a safe, organized, and well-stocked environment for the meals prepared by the kitchen.

Donations Volunteer

Assist in keeping Hope Atlanta’s donation area organized and client-ready by sorting, recording, and stocking essential food, hygiene, and household items. Your hands-on support ensures thousands of individuals and families can quickly access the resources they need.

Client Resource
Area Redesign

Be part of a special improvement project focused on refreshing Hope Atlanta’s Client Resource Area through cleaning, organizing, shelving assembly, and pantry restocking. From February-April 2026, volunteers help create a more welcoming, efficient space that enhances the client experience.

Administrative Volunteer

Our administrative volunteers play a vital behind-the-scenes role in supporting Hope Atlanta’s Community Engagement Team through resource research, inventory management, filing, data organization, and other essential operational tasks. Their dedication strengthens our Programs Team’s ability to provide critical support and resources to the clients we serve.

Community Service Projects
& Kit Drives

Mobilize your coworkers, organization, or friends to organize donation drives or assemble essential item kits complete with handwritten notes of encouragement.

Contact the Community Engagement Team at volunteer@hopeatlanta.org to learn how you can lead your group in hosting a successful donation drive or kit build.

Thank you to our dedicated volunteers!
